Closing Night...mare!!!

Our final show at Donny's Skybox just so happened to land on Halloween. It was a show filled with ghouls, gore and guests. Gabe was missing for the evening due to a previous engagement so we filled in his spot with three wonderful guest musicians and vocalists. A huge thanks to Eric (insert last name here), Tom Bambara, and Erica Elam for singing and playing their hearts out.

Show #5 was a cornucopia of voices, vices, and vintage dance styles. The Tacky Annies kicked off the show with a great set of...dances, all inspired by early 20th century dance genres. They tapped, did the Charleston, Lindied, and they did much of it with their hair in finger waves, and their bodies in corsets, and frilly underwear. Go see them perform.

At the end of our set we even had our own go-go dancers join us onstage. We're thinking of adding cages to our stage setup for all future shows. That way we'll be more family friendly.

Half Way There

Show #3 at the viaduct opened with the dulcet tones of Stealth Like a Canoe, a romantically entwined duo who trade off on guitar, accordion, ukulele, keys and vocals. They certainly rocked the boat (or canoe in their case). We're going to be best facebook friends FOREVER...or until facebook gets replaced by another social networking site. Then we might actually have to have face time. I know. Hanging out with people is so 1998, but we in Reset List break social norms like pretzel sticks.

Blue Reset Glee List Club...or Night #2 at the Viaduct

For show #2 we teamed up with the Blue Ribbon Glee Club, Chicago's one and only punk/alternative rock glee club. A group of 25 people singing a Black Sabbath cover accompanied by nothing by cymbals is nothing short of gleeful. They kicked off the night and got the audiences ears properly lubricated so we could make sweet musical love with their cochleas.

Night #1 at the Viaduct went rocktastically well. We are insanely grateful for everyone who made it out to support us and for our awesome opening group, Chicago Tap Theatre. They kicked off the show (they also tapped, shuffled, and ball-changed it) with an great set of choreographed and improvised numbers. They even had one of us join them in their final number. 7/16/09 Stealth Like a Canoe - Nicolette and Adam met six years ago and formed Stealth Like A Canoe in the spring of 2008. Knowing each other so well influences their music and creates a playful and intimate rapport on stage, where they share vocals, and switch off on guitar, accordion and keyboard. 7/30/09 The Tacky Annies - The Tacky Annies is a vintage dance troupe that makes their home right here in Chicago. They specialize in vernacular jazz dances from the early part of the 20th century including Charleston, Blues, and other specialty dances. Founded officially in August of 2008 by Jenna Stworzyjanek, the Tacky Annies brought together the best and most talented female Lindyhoppers from the Chicago-land area. The collection of girls had a wide range dance of talents and interests including, swing, blues, Charleston, hip hop, bellydancing, ballet, tap and jazz. This collection of women has led to inventive movement and a wide range of vintage dance knowledge. It was a glorious night in Oak Park, IL. We closed the evening for a fundraiser for The Seen, a new not for profit specializing in bringing together artists so they can get their art out to a wider audience (www.theseenchicago.com). There was wine, a silent auction and clam pizza. We added three new people to our mailing list and potentially got a gig playing at a law firm Christmas Party. We go where the party is at, especially if it will help us with our probation.

What to Expect When You're Expecting a Reset List Concert

So you're going to see a Reset List concert.

"What should I expect to see?" you ask.

"Anything you want" we will answer.

Someone once told me that you can have anything you want but you can't have everything that you want. However, come to enough Reset List shows and you can get both (for the price of multiple Reset List tickets). So let me rephrase...

"Bliggity blaggity bleu?" you ask.

"Anything and EVERYTHING you want," we will answer.

Let's get down to specifics. We've been on tour for a while and tonight (much like every night) is our audience appreciation night in which YOU choose our set list. Back when we created our own set lists we had way too many trips to the emergency room to sew up knife wounds from audience members who didn't get to hear their favorite songs. So, in an effort to give you guys what you want (and to stay alive) we have given you the power over the songs you will hear tonight.

Worry not. If you haven't seen us perform before, or if you don't have one of our 32 CDs, chances are that if you string together a word or three to form a title, WE WROTE THAT SONG. Seriously. So when we start asking for suggestions for titles start screaming because now it's your responsibility to get your favorite song on our set list.

Every night is a new show. We never play the same song twice. There WILL be a mosh pit of love. We are Reset List.
